Our brasserie is named after the old limestone factory "De Alba".
The Albalake, 200 metres from here, still stands as a silent witness on the spot where stone factory De Alba stood from 1906 onwards. There, the heather-covered sand mound 'Scherpenberg' was excavated for decades. All for the purpose of limestone production. Nowadays, it is a closed and private area, as the depth of the lake is too dangerous to allow public access.
